MIND BEHIND THE MISSION
Founder - Jabril Thompson
From the start, food was a love language in my home. My parents weren't chefs, but their passion for cooking and feeding others left a lasting mark on me, especially during Sunday dinners and spontaneous kitchen experiments.
I came to see cooking as more than a skill; it was a way to gather, comfort, and celebrate. Over time, I developed a style that blends comfort dishes with bold, modern twists.
I gained real-world experience at a New Jersey country club and Philadelphia restaurants, where I learned the hustle and heart behind great food. I also spent time in AmeriCorps, where my passion for community impact grew, and allowed me to see how my culinary talents could be a vehicle to make my contribution towards being a part of meaningful growth. Serving alongside people who were committed to something bigger than themselves pushed me to think about what I was building and why.
That mission became JT Catering. Each dish we serve is rooted in care, creativity, and the joy of coming together. A piece of every sale goes back to the communities that inspire us. Food has always brought people to the table. We just want to make sure everyone has a seat and a lasting experience.
